Nearly 50 years of professional experience in photojournalism, fine art, and education.
Andrzej Kielbowicz, ZPAF
In the 1970s and 80s, Andrzej worked as a staff photojournalist for major Polish illustrated magazines during one of the most transformative periods in European history. He photographed Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa, Solidarity leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Lech Walesa, and music legends Ray Charles and Miles Davis. He later worked as a photo editor, art director, and graphic designer, including for the renowned advertising agency DDB Needham in Warsaw.
His documentary work from this era, the series ‘Poland Before 1989,’ was exhibited at the international Foto Art Festival in Bielsko-Biala and has been acquired for the permanent collections of the Museum of Photography in Krakow and the National Museum in Wroclaw, Poland.
In 2024, Andrzej was admitted to the Association of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF), an organization established in 1947 that accepts only recognized masters of Polish photography.
Today, Andrzej brings that same professional-grade expertise to every student in Victoria, BC.
